About Me

We came to live in our Blue house here in Carvalhal over a year ago, to make our permanent life together in this wonderful country and beautiful house.

I’ve done a bunch of stuff over the years, set up and ran a Design and Marketing company for 25 years, became an electric guitar designer and builder for over 10 years…..now I’m a contemporary watercolour artist, much less strain on the old limbs!

I paint because I absolutely love it, it gives me huge fulfillment, I disappear. I don’t know how I know how to, I’m convinced my darling Granny is sitting on my shoulder. ❤️

The core of what I’m inspired by is colour and its affect on us, inspired by nature, seas, skies, sun and landscapes, and I allow myself to range around in all sorts of styles without any boundaries. 

I love the drama and power of the sky and the sea, they turn up a lot. An astute friend once said they can see my love of life coming through my work, I’ll take that

A lot of my paintings are on a massive scale for watercolour, my chosen medium, framed 91cms x 63cms, and I love the expanse it gives me to move the paint around, but there are much bigger paintings coming, when I can master the canvases!

My studio is in our famous Blue house in Carvalhal, and I love visitors to come and browse and chat over coffee, get in touch to arrange a visit. See you sometime!
